	Senior's +55 Games Registration July 29, 2009 The Fort Smith Seniors Society will be hosting a regional Seniors 55+ Friendship Games in Fort Smith on August 12-14, 2009, for residents in the Mackenzie Region (includes South Slave, North Slave, and Dehcho) and Yellowknife. These Games are designed to encourage wellness (spiritual, mental, and physical) for residents of this region who are 55 years of age and older. It is an opportunity for elders to compete in friendship and share the comradery of others their age.

	Who We Are
	At its most basic level the Northwest Territories Sport & Recreation Council (NWTSRC) can be described as the umbrella for the sport, recreation and active living sector. The NWTSRC is a non-profit, non-government organization whose board operates on a governance model, providing broad strategic direction. Our partners, volunteers, professionals and communities help to move us collectively forward.

Role & Responsibilities

The members of the SRC are leaders and representatives of the sport, recreation and active living system in the NWT.

Our role is to provide effective leadership and support to the sport and recreation system by setting strategic direction and allocating resources.

Responsibilities:

To be knowledgeable and evidence-based
To be advocates for the sport and recreation sector
To build a first-class sport and recreation system in the NWT
